Essay On Whatsapp Messenger In English For Kids And Students | 

Whatsapp Messenger app is a simple cross messaging communication service through which a person can communicate with each other with the help of video and audio calls or either by way of sending messages to each other. This application offers a wide number of features at a totally free cost. 

Whatsapp Messenger is owned by Facebook which is also a popular messaging service similar to WhatsApp. Whatsapp offers a number of features such as sending text messages, Voice messages, Images, Documents, Sharing User Locations, and other media types. 

While WhatsApp was initially built for mobile devices only but in the present time, it also offers a feature through which WhatsApp messenger can be accessed on desktop computers also and this feature is known as WhatsApp web. To use the Whatsapp web feature you have to make sure that your phone and laptop remain connected to the Internet. 

While Facebook can be accessed with a username and password, Whatsapp is a little different. To use this messenger service a user has to contain an active mobile number through which Whatsapp messenger is to be used. 

Whatsapp was initially built in California but later it was purchased by Facebook at a price of 9.3 billion dollars. In 2018 Whatapp released a smaller version of its service named Whatsapp Business to help the companies to develop a way to communicate with the customers through this messenger who used the standard WhatsApp version. 

Whatsapp was founded by Brian Acton and Jan Koum who were the former employees of Yahoo. In 2015 Whastapp widening its features were also made available for Desktop computers through a feature called Whatsapp Web and was announced by Kaoum don his Facebook page saying that a new feature of browser application of WhatsApp was announced and through this feature Whatsapp Messenger can be accessed on desktop computers too. But for this to work both computer and phone should be connected to the internet. 

Users had to only type Whatsapp Web in their google search and then by clicking on WhatsApp weblink scan the QR code through the mobile WhatsApp application and finally, access was granted to the user after scanning the QR code in the Whatsapp phone application.

If we talk about the security and privacy of our data in WhatsApp then this Whatsapp says that they provide end-to-end encryption which means that the message that a user sends to another user can be read by only the sender and reader and not by any other and not even by WhatsApp without special permissions from the concerned authorities. WhatsApp also announced the partnership of Whisper Systems in providing the end to end encryption to every form of communication on Whatsapp. 

As we know that there are two sides to a coin, Similarly, here also there are both advantages and disadvantages of using WhatsApp: 

Advantages Of Using Whatsapp: 

  • Whatsapp helps us to communicate in any corner of the world while offering a wide number of features such as Voice Call, Video Call- Group Call, and Individual Call. 
  • Whatsapp offers a wide number of features totally free at no extra cost. 
  • Whatsapp provides end-to-end encryption as a privacy move that increases the security of data of the users of Whatsapp. 
These are some of the advantages of using Whatsapp Messenger of using WhatsApp. 

Disadvantages Of Using Whatsapp: 
  • There is a risk as someone else may read your private messages by accessing your messenger chats. 
  • Sometimes User may receive constant messages from Whatsapp thus irritating the user. 
  • Your profile picture is visible to every person having your contact number in their Whatsapp Account. 
  • In case the user wants o to add someone to his WhatsApp account he/ she has to first add the contact number of the particular person apart from already saved in the address book. 

All the more Whatsapp is a great platform to be used nowadays but you should use it by keeping the disadvantages of overuse of WhatsApp.
